If you wish to register and license your new business in New Mexico, begin by contacting the Taxation and Revenue Department for a “CRS” number. You may also need a license from the Regulation and Licensing Department, depending on the type of business you operate. If you incorporate you must register with the Public Regulation Commission. This is explained in more detail in the small business guide.
