Blockchain technology is redefining the cybersecurity paradigm. Fundamentally, blockchain is a distributed ledger technology (DLT), it is built on peer-to-peer network, cryptographic hash functions such as SHA-256, and consensus mechanism such as proof of work (POW) and proof of stake (POS). Since there is no central authority in blockchain and the data stored in every block has been encrypted as well as timestamped, it is nearly impossible for data interception, modification and deletion.
The speaker will discuss the use cases in blockchain security and the current challenges, including the lack of blockchain security standard. He will also discuss the 7 criteria that he has developed in selecting the right blockchain solutions.
