Reimagining the NM Food Economy

The tighter the link between a community’s food and agricultural entrepreneurs and their support systems, the more economically vibrant that community will be—and with the entrepreneurs ultimately being more successful, we open doors to increased access to local food throughout the state.

We’ll hear from organizations leading the way in changing policy to address these needs, including the Barelas Community Coalition, NM Harvest, La Semilla Food Center, New Mexico Farmers Marketing Association, NM PED Farm to School Program, New Mexico Food and Agriculture Policy Council, NM First, Santa Fe Food Policy Council and the NM Healthy Soils Working Group. They will share powerful stories of food community work that has led to policy initiatives and projects bridging food security, value chain connections, local economic development and community empowerment. Over a dozen community partners will participate in a resource expo before and after the event.
