Los Alamos, N.M. - Today Secretary Matt Geisel announced the expansion of two New Mexico companies and the creation of 70 new jobs in Santa Fe and Los Alamos. Descartes Labs will create 50 new jobs with the expansion of their headquarters in Santa Fe and UbiQD will create 20 new jobs with the expansion of their headquarters and manufacturing facility in Los Alamos. Both companies are successfully commercializing technology developed at Los Alamos National Laboratory.

Los Lunas, NM— Today, Governor Susana Martinez and Facebook announced the latest expansion of the Los Lunas Data Center, bringing Facebook’s total investment in the project to over $1 billion. Facebook will add four more buildings to the Los Lunas campus, in addition to the two already under construction.

Santa Fe, N.M. - Today, Governor Susana Martinez announced that New Mexico has been ranked in Site Selection Magazine's Top State Business Climate Rankings. New Mexico came in at 22nd in the national business climate ranking and 17th in the Executive Survey Rank. A primary component of the ranking is based on a survey of corporate site selection professionals.

Santa Fe, N.M. - Today, the New Mexico Economic Development Department announced that the Job Training Incentive Program (JTIP) board approved $5,134,207.04 to help 20 New Mexico companies, in 11 communities, expand their workforce, adding 549 jobs and providing enhanced skills training to 51 workers across the state. Companies utilizing JTIP during the first quarter ranged from large manufacturers to cybersecurity startups.

Albuquerque, N.M. - Today, Economic Development Secretary Matt Geisel announced that ABQid will receive up to $2 million from the Catalyst Fund to invest in New Mexico startups. This commitment will leverage matching funds from ABQid, to be invested in New Mexico startups, bringing the total potential investment from this commitment through the Catalyst Fund up to $5 million.

This competitive grant is designed to enable early stage science and technology companies, in New Mexico, to receive small amounts of funding to help offset costs during critical moments of company growth.

Albuquerque, N.M. - Today, Governor Susana Martinez joined local business leaders to announce that JTIP created more than 2,000 jobs in 2017. This brings the total amount of JTIP jobs created over the last seven years to nearly 10,000. The program also saw its second-highest average rural wage at more than $21 an hour.

Santa Fe, N.M. - Today, New Mexico MainStreet (NMMS), a program of the New Mexico Economic Development Department, announced that more than $300,000 has been awarded to MainStreet partners to support the arts in New Mexico. The City of Albuquerque, the City of Gallup and Creative Startups partnering with Zuni Pueblo have received funding to support their work as centers of arts and innovation and build on their cultural assets to activate their downtown economies.
