SANTA FE - The New Mexico Economic Development Department's Job Training Incentive Program (JTIP) Board approved $246,816.58 in funds during its April meeting. The funds will help cover the cost of training 33 employees at six different companies. Of the 33 jobs created 14 are high-wage jobs. The next JTIP Board meeting will be held on May 10, in Santa Fe.

SANTA FE – Today, the New Mexico Economic Development Department announced the launch of new marketing tools that includes SiteFinder, a searchable database of commercial real estate listings on a GIS platform, along with a newly designed logo and website to aid in the recruitment of businesses to the state. Commercial property availability is a key component in the site selection process and information on available commercial properties is essential to recruiting new business.

SANTA FE – The New Mexico Rural Alliance and IDEA will join together to host the 2014 New Mexico Economic Development Summit and are seeking proposals from communities interested in hosting the summit. The co-sponsored event will replace the Rural Economic Development Forum and the annual IDEA meeting in order to leverage the resources of both organizations.

SANTA FE - Governor Martinez approved $1 million for the Economic Development Department’s New Mexico MainStreet Program. This funding will assist in the creation of a “Frontier Communities” program, provide support for MainStreet emerging and start up communities, the Arts and Cultural Districts and continuation of MainStreet’s work to develop economically feasible business environments through revitalization, redevelopment, preservation and marketing of historical and cultural locations.

LAS CRUCES – Today Governor Martinez and Economic Development Secretary Jon Barela joined Heritage Home Healthcare, an Albuquerque-based company, to announce its expansion into Las Cruces. Heritage Home is acquiring a facility in Las Cruces which will be its new regional headquarters for Southern New Mexico and will create more than 100 jobs in the next three years.
