SANTA TERESA – Governor Susana Martinez joined Chihuahua Governor César Duarte and other government officials today at a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially open the expanded Santa Teresa Port of Entry. The expansion will help support increased commercial and passenger vehicle crossings at the Port of Entry. With the expansion, the Santa Teresa Borderplex region has significantly enhanced its role as a growing international trade center.

Job Training Incentive Program Funds High-Wage Position in Taos

SANTA FE - The New Mexico Economic Development Department's Job Training Incentive Program (JTIP) Board approved $8,680 in funds during its May meeting. The funds will help cover the cost of training one high-wage position in the rural community of Taos. The next JTIP Board meeting will be held on June 14, in Albuquerque.

Fatman’s Beef Jerky Announces Creation of 14 New Jobs and Grand Opening of New Facility

SANTA FE – Today the New Mexico Economic Development Department joined Fatman’s Beef Jerky to announce its expansion and grand opening of its new facility in Hagerman, NM. The Roswell-based beef jerky producer recently expanded from nine to 17 full-time employees and has plans to hire an additional 10 employees over the next year to meet growing customer demand.

Four New Mexico Businesses Complete New Mexico 9000 Program

ALBUQUERQUE - Four New Mexico small businesses completed preparation for ISO 9001 certification through the New Mexico 9000 program. ISO 9001 is a quality management standard recognized by more than 170 countries and required by most major companies and governments in the United States, Mexico, Canada, Europe and Asia of its suppliers. The New Mexico Economic Development Department (NMEDD) in collaboration with the New Mexico Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) offered the low-cost ISO 9001 certification to small businesses across the state.
