Las Vegas, NM - During the grand opening of the New Mexico Highlands University Business Hub, Economic Development Secretary Jon Barela announced that Medicus Billing & Consulting is choosing Las Vegas for the home of their third office. The move will create up to 10 well-paying jobs and will add more jobs as they grow. Medicus was approved in August for $50,420 in Job Training Incentive Program funds to help create new jobs.

Santa Fe, NM - Today, the New Mexico Economic Development Department announced that the Job Training Incentive Program (JTIP) board approved $2,222,858 for 313 jobs announced over the last two months. JTIP is one of the many tools helping to bring new businesses to New Mexico and help those that are here grow and thrive. The board approval comes on the heels of Governor Martinez and Secretary Barela announcing more than 2,000 jobs over the last few months. The funding will also go toward six new internships and eight incumbent workers.

Santa Fe, NM - New Mexico MainStreet announced today that two organizations were selected for $2,500 placemaking grants to help revitalize gathering places in historic commercial centers. The recipients are Embudo Valley Library & Community Center in Dixon and the Manzano Mountain Art Council in Mountainair. The grant opportunity is an outgrowth of the highly successful 2015 Building Creative Communities Conference held in partnership with Department of Cultural Affairs' partners, New Mexico Arts and New Mexico Historic Preservation Division, and with support from New Mexico Resiliency Alliance.
