NMEDD, Funding Agencies Call on Communities to Submit Economic Development Project Proposals for Funding Opportunities

SANTA FE, N.M. - The New Mexico Economic Development Department will host the next FUNDIT meeting November 29 to help local leaders identify funding for economic development projects. New Mexico FUNDIT, is a streamlined approach to help communities identify funding opportunities in one centralized location by bringing local, state and federal funding agencies together to analyze and compare proposals for capital projects. The state is calling on communities to submit project proposals by November 15 for review during its upcoming meeting.

Together, among other uses, these projects will improve infrastructure for pedestrian access and be used to help grow visitor and retail traffic in MainStreet districts.

New Mexico MainStreet Announces New Web Platforms to Encourage Cultural Tourism in the State

SANTA FE, N.M. - Today, New Mexico MainStreet announced several initiatives to promote the creative economy and cultural tourism in New Mexico. New Mexico Mainstreet, a program administered by the New Mexico Economic Development Department, announced a new Arts & Cultural Districts Trail and a New Mexico Arts & Cultural Districts website, developed in partnership with the New Mexico Tourism Department and its New Mexico True campaign. The trail highlights New Mexico's eight State-Certified Arts & Cultural Districts, encouraging visitors to travel to the districts to experience and enjoy New Mexico's traditions through cultural institutions and the arts.

Governor Susana Martinez Announces 45 New High-Tech Jobs in Las Cruces

LAS CRUCES, N.M. - Today, Governor Susana Martinez announced that X2NSAT, a satellite communications company, will expand their business to Las Cruces, creating up to 45 new high-tech jobs over the next several years. This announcement comes on the heels of Governor Martinez announcing that Facebook has chosen New Mexico for its new high-tech data center.

EDD Announces Expansion of High-Tech Manufacturer, 11 New High-Paying Jobs in Santa Fe

Santa Fe, NM - Today, Economic Development Secretary Matt Geisel announced that Star Cyro will expand operations in Santa Fe, adding 11 new high-paying, high-tech manufacturing jobs over the next five years. These jobs will pay between $52,000 and $93,600 a year.
