Southeastern NM Business Finance Fair connects businesses to financial resources

SANTA FE, N.M. – In an effort to assist businesses in obtaining the financial resources they need, and help lenders find projects they wish to finance, the New Mexico Economic Development Department (EDD) is hosting another finance fair, this time geared toward businesses and lenders located in Southeastern New Mexico, EDD Cabinet Secretary Alicia J. The New Mexico Film Office Launches New Production Accounting and Payroll Training Program

SANTA FE, NM - Today the New Mexico Film Office (NMFO) announced a Production Accounting and Payroll Training Program, aimed at skilling up experienced New Mexico accounting and professionals to transition to production accounting for the New Mexico film industry. NMFO is partnering with CNM Ingenuity, to train New Mexicans to work as payroll clerks, accounting clerks, and payroll accountant and second assistant accountant positions upon completion of the training.

State-Led CyberReady Initiative will Assist Businesses with Cybersecurity Best Practices

Santa Fe, N.M. – The New Mexico Economic Development Department (EDD), through its Office of Science & Technology (OST), received a grant in July of 2020 from the Department of Defense (DOD) to pioneer a cybersecurity awareness and preparedness training initiative. OST, in conjunction with the New Mexico Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (CCoE), has used the funding to develop a new CyberReady initiative to help New Mexico businesses become compliant with federal cybersecurity standards.

NMMS and ORD will create the “Outdoor Recreation Asset Atlas” to study five counties; the end result will identify up to five trail creation or improvement projects connected to MainStreet districts. Outdoor recreation development, when connected to MainStreet community downtowns, has great potential to support local, asset-based economic development.
