Downtown Taos MainStreet is Accredited as a New Mexico MainStreet Community

Santa Fe, N.M. – New Mexico MainStreet, a program of the New Mexico Economic Development Department, today announced that Downtown Taos MainStreet and their partners have fulfilled the MainStreet Accelerator process. Taos has been designated as an accredited New Mexico MainStreet program. They will be recognized on the national level by Main Street America in May 2020. Taos began the accelerator program in June 2018 and have progressed through the accelerator benchmarks and advanced economic revitalization projects in the downtown district.

“Roswell” Season 2 films in New Mexico

The television series “Roswell,” produced by Warner Bros.Television / NM Talent Inc., will begin principal photography of Season 2 mid-August through January in Santa Fe, Las Vegas, Albuquerque, and Madrid, New Mexico State Film Office Director Todd Christensen announced today. The production will employ 260 New Mexico crew members and 2,550 state residents in extra and background roles.

Frontier & Native American Communities Initiative Now Accepting Applications for New Projects

SANTA FE, N.M. – New Mexico MainStreet, a program of the New Mexico Economic Development Department, today announced that it is accepting applications for the sixth round of the Frontier & Native American Communities Initiative. The initiative is project-based and provides support to rural and Native American communities under 7,500 in population. Proposed projects must demonstrate job creation, business development, leveraging private sector investment, or enhancement of a community’s economic environment.
