Santa Fe, NM - New Mexico MainStreet announced today that two organizations were selected for $2,500 placemaking grants to help revitalize gathering places in historic commercial centers. The recipients are Embudo Valley Library & Community Center in Dixon and the Manzano Mountain Art Council in Mountainair. The grant opportunity is an outgrowth of the highly successful 2015 Building Creative Communities Conference held in partnership with Department of Cultural Affairs' partners, New Mexico Arts and New Mexico Historic Preservation Division, and with support from New Mexico Resiliency Alliance.

Albuquerque, NM -- Today, Governor Susana Martinez announced that Unity BPO, a homegrown Albuquerque business, will create 300 new well-paying health care industry jobs. The expansion comes on the heels of Governor Martinez announcing more than 2,000 new jobs in recent months.

Santa Clara, NM - Today, New Mexico Economic Development Secretary Jon Barela announced St. Claire's Organics, a Colorado manufacturer of candy and cough drops, is relocating its facility to the Village of Santa Clara and will create 10 manufacturing jobs. St. Claire's Organics' products are currently sold in the natural foods and mass market segments, both in the U.S. and in several countries abroad.

Santa Fe, NM - Today, the New Mexico Economic Development Department (NMEDD) announced that 18 communities have been selected to receive Local Economic Assistance & Development Support (LEADS) grants. The $170,000 in grants will help communities create jobs, develop their tax base and encourage economic development. Since the program began in 2015, $346,200 has been distributed to rural communities to help supplement their economic development efforts.

Santa Fe, NM - Today, the New Mexico Economic Development Department announced that 16 New Mexico MainStreet programs are receiving national recognition for work in their communities. The programs are receiving accreditation from the National MainStreet Center for their success in demonstrating high-capacity results in preserving historic sites and revitalizing their communities. The MainStreet program is a proven job creator, having created more than 3,400 new businesses and 12,000 new jobs in New Mexico since 1985.

Santa Fe, NM - Today, the New Mexico Economic Development Department announced the New Mexico True Architecture Trails, which are aimed at connecting visitors with centuries of New Mexico architectural history. The trails, which can be accessed here, were developed in partnership with the Tourism Department's New Mexico True campaign. The trails highlight New Mexico architecture from several eras, including: Adobe, Victorian, Classical and Modern styles. The Architecture Trails along with MainStreet's Off the Road in New Mexico website encourage tourists to travel on historic and scenic byways throughout New Mexico.

Rio Rancho, NM - Today, Governor Susana Martinez announced that PCM, a leading California IT company, will expand its operations to New Mexico, creating 224 well-paying sales positions with annual salaries ranging between $45,000 and $65,000. The expansion is the result of Governor Martinez and other leaders who traveled to California earlier this year to meet with business executives, including at PCM, to tell them about the state's improved business climate.

Las Cruces, NM - Today, Governor Susana Martinez announced the New Mexico Economic Development Department will invest $1.8 million in Local Economic Development Act (LEDA) funds to build a well serving the area around the booming borderplex in Santa Teresa. The well will support businesses such as the recently opened MCS Frames 215,000 square-foot distribution center, FedEx Ground's new 215,000 square-foot logistics facility, Valley Cold Storage's new 400,000 square-foot facility, and 6,400 linear feet of new rail in the Santa Teresa Intermodal Park.
