By statute and a memorandum of understanding with the U. S. Census Bureau, the Economic Development Department is the designated State Data Center for New Mexico. The program is a partnership with the Census Bureau and was originally created to distribute census data products to affiliate organizations statewide as they are made available.

Census data is provided through the bureau’s website at www.census.gov. EDD’s Census page provides both historical data and links to New Mexico state and local data on their website.
The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions (DWS) works in partnership with the U. S. Bureau of Labor Statistics to produce a multitude of data on the state’s workforce. A sampling is provided here with much move available on the DWS website.
The most up-to-date picture of the state’s economy can be found in EDD’s quarterly economic reports, including summaries for the state’s 33 counties.
The U. S. Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) provides data on the nation’s economy including U.S. gross domestic product (GDP), foreign trade and investment statistics and industry data. The BEA also provides data at the state and local levels accessible at BEA Data by Place.
Data.gov is the home of the U.S. government’s open data portal.
