Santa Fe Brewing Company, a local watering hole since 1988 and a distributor of tasty libations to the greater Southwest and beyond since 2005, is thriving. Boasting a brewery, tasting room and laid-back concert venue, the SF Brewing Co. has become a Northern NM staple with a product both locally and regionally known.
Last September, the brewing company tapped into the economic development department for an investment of $250,000 with plans to use the money for increased production and distribution as well as expanded staffing. The sum will allow production to jump from 18,000 barrels of beer/year to more than 200,000 barrels/year by 2020. Out-of-state distribution will follow suit by increasing beyond the current 30-40% of production with a broader national and international reach.
New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez is excited about the brewery’s potential to boost the state’s economy with this recent quarter of a million dollar investment. “Santa Fe Brewing is more than just a local brewer, but a brand that goes beyond our state through its exports,” said Gov. Martinez. “We are thrilled to help Santa Fe Brewing Company grow into new markets and expand its reach, bringing new dollars into New Mexico with a profound multiplier effect.”
